Yes, the high amounts of silica and oil naturally present in the structure of teak wood make the panel completely impervious to water, salty seawater, moisture, and fungal growth. For this reason, it is an unrivaled wood in the world for wet flooring.
When exposed to UV effects in sunlight, teak wood takes on a natural silver-gray color over time in order to protect its surface. To maintain its original golden yellow and brown tones, it needs to be oiled 1 or 2 times a year with special teak oil.
With its water-impervious structure, it is especially used in deck claddings of luxury yachts and boats, poolside deck flooring, outdoor garden furniture designs, and luxury bathroom countertops with wet areas.
